Hi everyone! Today I’m going to talk about food!

To begin, I will start by saying that I love food and i love eating! My favourite types of food are italian and japanese!

I think my favourite food(until now) is lasagna! That plate it has everything I like; cheese, tomato sauce, meat, onion and others delicious ingredients.

Well, just as there is food that I love there is also food that I hate and I don't like it.

However, the amount of food I don't like is small, because I'm not tricky, that foods are “cochayuyo”, “prietas”, some mollusks and animal interiors.





About japonese food, I have tasted sushi, ramen and takoyaki. I would love to go to Japan and try more and new food.

I also like Peruvian food very much, it is very tasty and spicy. I tried this type of food for my graduation from the school, my dad, sister and I went to celebrate a Peruvian restaurant.

Lately I have liked Mexican culture, along with its food and landscapes.
The food I want to taste soon is the Mexican tacos!  

MY FAVORITE SERIE

Hello everyone! Today I'm going to talk about my favorite serie!

My favorite serie is "The Walking Dead"; It’s a television serie created and produced by Robert Kirkman and Frank Darabont, based on the comic book by Robert Kirkman.

The serie is set in a post-apocalyptic world and is starring by Rick Grimes, a police officer who, upon waking from a coma, finds that civilization has disappeared due to an inexplicable phenomenon that causes dead people to stand up and attack to living people, transforming them into "dead walkers".

The Walking Dead premiered on October 31, 2010 on the AMC network, eight seasons were broadcast between 2011 and 2018, and from October 2018 to April 2019, the ninth season was broadcast.

I knew the series since I was little and used to watch isolated chapters. However, in the summer of this year, my mom hired Netflix, I saw that the series was there and I didn't hesitate for a second to watch it. 

With my sister we became totally addicted, probably seeing the 8 seasons until then in less than 1 month.

I like the fact that people must survive, and that when the world is ending, material things have virtually no value, and the only and necessary capital is human.

THE BEST HOLIDAYS EVER

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to talk about the best holidays that I have had in my life.

In the summer 2017 my sister, grandfather, mom and I went to Valdivia to meet new places and to visit our family.

I had been a lot of times before in Valdivia but that summer was so special. Valdivia is my favourite place in the world (until now), the weather is amazing and there is a lot of nature.

We stayed in the house of my uncle (almost all my family lives in Valdivia) for approximately one month!

We went to the “Costanera”, “Fuerte Niebla”, “Embalse San Javier”, “Panguipulli” and many beaches.

However the place where it was most entertaining to be was the house of my cousins, they live in the countryside near the river “Calle Calle”. 

We harvested blackberries, corns and potatoes. We fed the pigs, chickens and rabbits.

We also swam in the river and we saw a baby sea lion so many close to us. We were so afraid but it was so beautiful!

 That summer was mi favourite because I did new things and I passed a lot of time with my family.

A COUNTRY I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to talk about a country I would like to visit.

Honestly I would like to travel for all the countries of the world! The most exciting thing for me about to travel to others places is to know others cultures, life styles, races and traditions. In summary, I would like to visit a country so different to mine, and that country is JAPAN!

I’m not otaku or something but I really like the oriental culture because is so ancient, beautiful and organized.

I would like to visit Japan because it’s a beautiful, technological, developed and millenary country, with a wonderful culture and amazing places.

                                                                                                    
I know that Japan is an island in the Pacific Ocean with approximately 126 million of habitants.

There I would like to eat a lot of sushi, taste takoyaki, go to an animal coffee shop, buy so many kawaii things and visit a lot of parks.

Definitely I would like to live there at least for a couple of years because Japan has a good quality of life, there is a few delinquencies and is a beauty country.

THE LAST BLOG

Hi all! Today I’m going to talk about my experience using blogs in the English Class.

I think doing blogs to learn English is very useful. Anyway, when you start writing blogs it’s a little bit difficult if the English is not your mother tongue. Expressing your ideas in  a written manner is already difficult and it’s even more when you have to do it in another language. But with the passage of time it starts to become easier. 

Also, what I value most about this experience of blogs is that you learn to know more of your classmates and as they express themselves.

I would like to include in the future blogs themes like what is your favourite food because I love food and eating and I’m so hungry right now! >:( or What is your favourite person in the world, because we all probably have one, even if we don’t usually think about it.

Basically I would like to know more about my classmates because I see them almost every day and I don’t know them as much as I would like.

Finally I think writing blogs is a good way to learn English and improve some skills about this language.

My favorite place

Hi all! Today I will talk about my favorite place in the world (so far) and where I relax myself a lot!

If I had to choose a place that relaxes me which I love visiting, undoubtedly it would be Valdivia.

I visit Valdivia almost every year, specifically in the summer.

Basically, I like Valdivia because it’s a beautiful city, with a lot of nature and a long and beautiful river. Anyway, I think the most important reason why I like Valdivia is because practically all my family lives there, cousins ​​and uncles mainly.

I went to Valdivia for the first time when I was 4 years old, when I visited my grandmother's sister, because she was born there.

The place I visit the most in summer with my cousins is Panguipulli, a beautiful city in the “Región de Los Ríos” with a large lake, where my family and I usually spend the hot days.

 My other favourite place in Valdivia is the “Costanera”. It is a place so touristic, you always see a lot of people of different countries taking pictures or just enjoying the nature. I love to see the Sea lions and how the fishmongers give fish to them.

SUBJECT THAT HAS CAUGHT MY ATTENTION

Hi all! Today I’m going to talk about a subject that has caught my attention during this semester. The subject is “Simulaciones para el ejercicio profesional I”

I think that this is possibly the most feared second year subject of Dentistry in this faculty because it has a lot of theoretical content and the teachers are very demanding. I don’t know if this course is my favourite at the moment, but it has definitely caught my attention because the contents and the practical area are very similar to the work of a dentist in the real life.

This subject has made me realize that I love the profession and in one way or another makes me grow because I get frustrated and I’m very sad about it, but then I learn to recognize my mistakes and improve them.

Sometimes it’s very stressful not to advance in the practical area but my love for the profession makes me leave the sadness behind.

In summary, “Simulaciones para el ejercicio profesional I” reminds me why I stay until 3 am studying or why I wake up every day at 6 am.

Expert on my field that I admire

Hi all! Today I am going to talk about an expert person in my field that I admire a lot.

That person is Dr. Jorge Lemus, a surgeon dentist, who belongs to the Department of Anatomy and Legal Medicine of the “Universidad de Chile”.

Dr. Lemus was the teacher in charge of the subject “Anatomical Bases” in the first semester of last year, however I met him more at the end of 2018, when he was my teacher of practical work in the subject “Anatomical Bases of Face and Neck”.

Of course, what I most admire about him is his wisdom. He knows a lot about anatomy, both in theory and in practice. I am very surprised that even though he is a dentist and his area is the head and face, he knows a lot about the whole human body, such as chest, lower limb, etc., in general I think he has impressive abilities.

This year, I have the privilege of being his student assistant, we dissected corpses and specifically now we are dissecting the pectoralis major muscle as a study material for future generations.

In this period of time, I have come to appreciate Dr. Lemus a lot, he is very willing to teach and always gives the best of him. Although he looks hard and serious, he is a great person when you know him, very tender, kind and above all very funny! :D

MUSIC

Hi! Today I'm going to write about my favorite band: “PARAMORE”

Well, Paramore is an American band of pop punk and alternative rock, composed by Hayley Williams (vocals), Taylor York (guitar) and Zac Farro (drums).

I remember that the first time I heard them I was 10 years old. I met them thanks to the movie of that moment: “Twilight”.

The first song I heard was DECODE. That song was part of the soundtrack of the movie, and I liked it a lot. 

After that, I looked for them on Internet and I saw that they had more songs.

What I like most about their music is the lyrics and the rhythm of the drums.

I'm still listening to Paramore, I have a list of them on Spotify and I listen to them on the way to the university or wherever I go.

Finally, I love Hayley's style! She always change the look of her hair.

My dream is to have hair like her someday, probably soon I will.

A photograph you like!

Hi! Today I will write about a photo that I like

This picture shows my grandmother and me on a summer day. It was the year 2002, and my mom took the picture because she had bought me a new dress.

My grandmother Elba, who appears in the photograph, was the best grandmother in the whole world. Unfortunately she died when I was 10 years old. Anyway, every second with her was beautiful and I treasure every memory with her in the deepest of my heart. 

I really like how the photographs can capture a moment. It's like if you stop time with a click.

I like this photo very much because I appear with my grandmother, who was and is very important in my life and also because I'm small in that picture, it reminds me that I was once like this. Small and worry-free, something that is quite difficult in university life.

PETS

During the course of my life I have had a lot of pets, hamsters mainly; dogs, fish and I even had three rabbits.

I had my first pet when I was 6 years old. It was a hamster, its name was Muchu and I loved it so much. Unfortunately, I killed it with a baby carriage.  Obviously it was an accident and I felt very bad.

I really like rodents and that is the principal reason why the hamsters have been the majority of my pets.

Anyway I have always loved dogs but living in an apartment complicates having one.

Surprisingly the year 2016 my mom came home with a puppy in her arms. It was really beautiful, the cutest puppy I had ever seen in my entire life.

We begged my mom to let the puppy stay at home and we finally adopted it.

Its name is Toby; he is 3 years old now. He is a happy and beloved dog.

YOUR FAVORITE PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY 

My favorite piece of technology is my cellphone. I got it two years ago. It was a birthday gift from my mom. I have had many cellphones during my life, 8 in total!

I use it basically for communicating with others by social networks like WhatsApp, Messenger and Email.

I also use it to have fun; to play Candy Crush Saga, to see photos in Instagram, to watch videos in YouTube and for do my favorite thing in the world: 

LISTEN TO MUSIC! 

I use it every day, in my house, university and subway. 

.

I  like it because is so practical, light, fast and multifunctional.

My life without it would be stressful. I don't  depend on the cell phone but it makes me feel very anxious not to be communicated. 

I also love listening to music and without the cell phone I couldn’t do it. 

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS MAJOR/STUDY PROGRAMME?

When I was a child I always wanted to be a doctor. I didn’t know what that meant, maybe being a doctor or a dentist, or working at a clinic. I just wanted to be a doctor.

I had others options of majors like nursing, chemical and medicine. But honestly I only thought that options because I wasn’t self-confident enough.  The scores for dentistry at good universities are high and I didn’t believe I was going to be able to reach it.

Finally, when I saw my final score I couldn’t believe it. It was better than expected and it was sufficient for studying dentistry. I felt so happy!  

Now I feel so satisfied with the decision I made, I love my friends and the major. My motivation is that I will be able to improve the health of the people.

In a future I would like to work in a public hospital to help the people who need it most and to gain experience.  Later I would to have my own dentist’s office and be the owner of my work.

¡Hi! My full name is Viviana Alejandra Tamara Mena Bello, most of my friends call me Vivi.

I was born in Santiago Centro 19 years ago on February 17^th.

I studied my elementary and high school at the San Viator School in Macul.

Now I study dentistry in the University of Chile since 2018 and I really love the major.

I have a sister, her name is Josefa. She is 17 years old and this is her last year at the school.

My dad’s name is Sergio, he is 49 years old. He is medical technologist and jobs in a clinical laboratory.

My mom’s name is Lorena, she is 49 years old. She is a telephone operator of a company.

My boyfriend’s name is Fernando, he is 19 years old. He studies commercial engineering.

My favorite hobby is play volleyball and I do it two times to week.
